How to get there?
San José- Sarapiqui: in order to arrive to Puerto Viejo, Sarapiquí from the capital, San José, it is required to go to the province of Heredia. Once you have passed Heredia downtown, you will take route # 112 from San Josecito until arriving at the town of Santa Clara. From there, you will use route # 4 northwest, which goes by San Bernardino, San Jorge, la Vuelta, Horquetas, the Tiger, until arriving to Puerto Viejo, Sarapiquí.
Tortuguero – Sarapiqui: We must embark on the aquatic transport of the zone. This boat will leave us in La Pavona o Casas Verdes; once we start heading the route # 247, we will pass Cariari and following that same highway we will arrive at Guápiles. There we will take the route # 32 towards the National Park Braulio Carrillo. Soon you will be taking the route towards Puerto Viejo of Sarapiquí through route # 4, passing through the towns of Horquetas and el Tigre.
Monteverde – Sarapiqui: # 619 is necessary to take the route towards Río Chiquito de Nubes; soon you will be passing next to Mata de Caña, Barrio Dos de Tilarán, until arriving at Tilarán downtown, where you must take the route # 142 to Mata de Caña and continue until arriving to la Fortuna. After, we must there take the route # 4 that goes towards el muelle, Aguas Zarcas, Río Cuarto, la Virgen, until arriving to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí. |
