Aventuras bravas

Located: in Puerto Viejo of Talamanca, south Caribbean coast, Limón.

Description: Riding horses is a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the beaches and jungle covered hills surrounding Puerto Viejo. And we let you decide how long you want to ride and where you want to ride, beach, jungle, or both. We ride with small groups (right now maximum four people), so you will likely be riding with just your group, for just the right amount of time, and just where you want to go. If others will be on the tour with you, we try to match riders up with like experience. We realize that it is no fun for an advanced rider to wait around all day for a beginner, and it's no fun for a beginner to try to keep up with advanced rider. Our horses are healthy, big and beautiful and have plenty of energy, yet they are very manageable. Of course, if you have experience, we'll let you run our horses some. Heck, we like to run, too, and so do our horses. But our guide will be there to make sure you don't over do it. Like we said, we love and protect our horses. Don't even ask us to go without a guide.

For horseback riding, the local Campesino trails are the best, going through farmland & cloud forest, besides offering stunning views of the gulf of Nicoya or Volcano Arenal on the other side of the Continental divide. I am attending all riding guests on arrival for a horseback riding briefing. I speak fluent English, French, Spanish and German. Local guides will take you around the countryside. On and off during the year we have bilingual volunteers guiding as well.  I also like take beginners and help them loose their fears.  I adapt the tours in the country site and chose the horses according to their character and the level of experience of the rider. I have children saddles, helmets and Ponies for half grown ups, very safe and comfortable for them. Smallest children ride with the guide or the parents, if they wish.
