Central Valley

Canopy San Lorenzo / Lands In Love

Located: San Lorenzo of San Ramón, on route number 272 on way to La Fortuna. Alajuela.

Duration: 3 ½ hours.

Description: The Canyoning tour in the reserve begins near a lake where general instructions and the appropriate equipment will be given by the guides.  10 minutes easy hike will lead you to 150 meters Canopy cable that will take you to the first rappel point, - a 43 meters tree platform. At the tree base you will experience world unique Running Tarzan Swing. 50 meters easy hike and you are on a hanging bridge where four descends in total will begin. The first is 51 meters rappel from the bridge to the waterfall follow by 10, 14 and 18 meters rappels. The tour continues to the BIG “super Tarzan Swing” and visits the Balsa River with its magnificent canyon views, wildlife and natural swimming pools. Horseback riding or tractor carriage to the starting point will end the tour.  The tour is not difficult and suits most ages. The reserve is in the cloud forest, where one can enjoy all aspects of this diverse and colorful nature. Giant trees, vegetation, animals, birds and more are part of these wonderful surroundings.  Rejuvenating and exciting experience!

Tropical Bungee

Located: on the old Colorado river bridge in San Lorenzo of San Ramón, Alajuela.

Description: We operate rock climbing and rappel; the rappelling consists of descending from fixed ropes along ravines, canyon walls, waterfalls or bridges. Specialized equipment like static ropes, harnesses, rappel racks and carabineers are used during the activity. Costa Rica has many interesting jungle settings for rappelling. Our tour offers rappelling for the enjoyment of beginners as well as those with some experience. All safety precautions are taken into account and our guides have wide knowledge and experience. Our tour begins in San Jose at 8am, picking up you at your hotel, traveling to the west towards Grecia. We set up at a place known as Los Chorros with a 40 meter waterfall. Upon arrival everyone will be outfitted with a harness, helmet, carabiners and will be connected to a safety line. A brief description and instruction will get you ready for this exciting adventure. One of the guides will rappel down first to provide safety and assistance at the bottom. Once your turn to rappel comes the guide will set the rappel device on the rope and attach it with a carabineer to your harness as well as the safety rope. You will begin on a gentle slope and about halfway it comes to an almost vertical wall. Once you get to the bottom the guide will unclip you from the rope and assist you. After everyone has rappelled we will have a snack lunch at the bottom (depending on weather).
